Homemade vegan chimichanga. It's my love letter on a plate to @vancityreynolds and if he doesn't respond then valentine's day is cancelled for everyone.
Broccoli cheddar soup recipe. So cheesy and creamy and it's made without ultra-processed ingredients. Great for getting a lot of veggies!
“We’re all going to die, all of us; what a circus! That alone should make us love each other, but it doesn’t. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities. We are eaten up by nothing.” - Charles Bukowski
Homemade bread, because buying it these days means a second mortgage. Costs about $0.25 a loaf to make and you know exactly what's in it.
The best cookware you can have is cast iron and steel (not stainless steel). It'll last beyond your lifetime and you don't have to worry about Teflon flaking off or trying to get it shiny clean. Brand isn't important and my favorite wok style pan I got at the Indian grocery for $16. My carbon steel pan here is from @bakingsteel.
I was 9 years old, sitting in the living room with a bowl of Spaghetti-Os. Middle of the day during the week, so the only options were infomercials and random movies. I dialed to one of the four channels, and the 1978 movie classic, Piranha, came on the TV. I thought I was tough cuz I had a swiss army knife and no nightlight anymore...I couldn't eat red soup for years after that. But, now I've seen the horrors of adulthood in the modern age and nothing scares me. I'd gladly choose flooded piranha streets over whatever the shit is going on these days. Sooooooo. Here's my veganized Spaghetti-Os recipe for a trip down nostalgia lane to when life made a hell of a lot more sense.
